' I developed my passion for clay during my time in Regina, Saskatchewan, where I entered the Clay Arts Program at the university. I still remember my heart singing as I ran down the stairs for my classes.
Right away it was form that inspired my work. My enjoyment still comes from reaching to perfect some aspect of a pot’s profile that particularly pleases me. At other times an old classic shape will challenge me to attempt its masters skill, and off I go again. I like a pot to look deceptively simple, for the eye to flow gracefully along its profile, before settling on the pot as a whole. On the wheel, form is my master; with slab building comes my freedom from the discipline of controlled form. Hand building forces me to loosen up and just… allow. For me, this journey is always evolving, and keeps my passion for clay on going.
As of late I have become fascinated with texture, and developing new surfaces, but form and line still are my main focus.

Jeanette takes a booth at all of the Okanagan Potters Association shows. Her work is also available by appointment at her workshop in Lumby, at Cherryville Artisan Shop in Cherryville, Chimo Village Gallery in Vernon, A Woodside Design Gallery in Kelowna and Craft Connection, Studio 378 in Nelson.
